Welcome to Neka, an adventure that began in 2004 and has evolved with motherhood and the aspirations of a passionate entrepreneur. Our company has evolved over time to meet the changing needs of family life.
Our story
I'm Caroline Gilbert, mother of 3 beautiful grown-up children, president and founder of Neka, with a university degree in administration. It was the birth of my second child that sparked my inspiration to make my entrepreneurial dream a reality. Motherhood opened my eyes to a world of special needs. I started modestly with breastfeeding pillows, then expanded my range as my children grew and my own personal interests took over. Children's pillows followed, as did other products such as meditation and yoga cushions.
Origin of the name Nneka
The term "Nneka" is of African origin and means "supreme mother" or "mother superior". It's a name with a positive meaning, emphasizing the importance and respect associated with the mother figure. The choice of this name is linked to the idea of providing products that bring support and comfort associated with the mother figure. We have shortened Neka to simplify pronunciation in business.
