Children's sleep: Tips for peaceful nights
At Neka, we know that your children's sleep is essential to their well-being (and yours too!). Yet many families face challenges when it comes to creating an environment conducive to quiet nights. Here are some practical tips to help toddlers get a good night's sleep.
1. Establish a soothing routine
Children feel reassured by routine. Create a bedtime routine that includes calm activities: a warm bath, a story or a soft song. These moments help your child understand that it's time to relax.
💡 Tip: Try to maintain a regular bedtime schedule, even on weekends, to reinforce their biological rhythm.
2. Create an environment conducive to sleep
A quiet, dark, comfortable space is key to a good night's sleep. Make sure the room temperature is pleasant, and limit distractions such as bright or noisy toys.
Our buckwheat hull-filled children's pillows are perfect for accompanying them to sleep. Their natural firmness and ergonomic support help maintain a comfortable posture throughout the night.
3. Avoid screens before bedtime
Blue light from screens (tablets, phones, TVs) can disrupt the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. Try to limit their use to at least one hour before bedtime, and opt for quieter activities.
4. Encourage daily physical activity
An active child during the day is often a child who sleeps better at night. Encourage outdoor play to let them expend their energy, while enjoying the fresh air.
5. Manage night-time awakenings calmly
Night-time awakenings are normal for young children. If they do wake up, reassure them gently and avoid stimulating them by turning on lights or playing games. This helps them fall back asleep more quickly.
6. Be patient and adaptable
Every child is unique. If one method doesn't work, don't hesitate to try another. The most important thing is to remain consistent and always put your child's well-being first.
By incorporating these tips into your daily routine, you'll be helping your children develop good sleep habits that benefit the whole family. And don't forget, our carefully crafted children's pillows and accessories are there to help your little dreamers enjoy a soft, comfortable night's sleep.
